Early Monday Mornings

So, I've come to realize that only part i really dislike about college are the Monday mornings. I feel like all weekend we hang out with people and stay up late, and Sunday night we spend trying to whip out homework. Thats not so bad on the weekends when you dont have that much, but on weekends where they load it on, it's miserable.

Last night I was up untill 2 doing homework and I was awake at 7 to get ready for work. As if that weren't bad enough, I lost my gloves and so I was left to walk to class bare palmed and thinking I had frost bite :-/ I felt pretty bad for the bartlette students because apparently they had a fire drill at 1:30 this morning-- really glad it wasn't us!

So for anyone that has anything to do early on Monday mornings, do your homework early, dont lose your gloves, and be thankful that you're just tired because it could be worse!

Gran Toreno / Free Movie Night

Last night Jenni and I went to the movies because it was the monthly "free movie night" for the Thomas students. Walk in, show your student ID-- that kind of thing. We made sure to get there pretty early because we figured that it would be packed. I think that all the RA's were excited about the movie as well because while the previews were comming on Ben Kenny, Billy Oxford, Joshua Stubbs, Andrew Folan, and a few other kids piled into the movie to look for seats. I was very impressed with Josh because he brought a few of his residence that didn't have a way to get there. Granted that means you listen to corny jokes on the way to watch it, but it was nice of him for the gesture.

As far as the movie went, I wasn't expecting such a large amount of cussing in such short periods of time. That kind of caught me off guard but it was a really good movie. I think the entire theatre was laughing the majority of the movie and then at the end we all were in a dead trance.

Thomas vs. MMA at Suki

The last game I went to where Thomas played MMA there were 3 cops anticipating the fights that broke out after our win. Well this time there was only one, and thankfully he wasn't needed. We won 5-2 and it was a really tight game-- untill the last period. Sully had some amazing saves in goal, and Slade went back to the way we all remember him-- being part of the fight.

Unfortunatly the MMA guy that tried to knock him down didn't realize who it was he was going after. Following many attempts to make Slade fall, Slade knocked him down-- twice. He seemed a little embaressed after the first fall and went back after Mike, but even more embaressed when Mike knocked him down the second time. Thankfully he stayed down to save himself the humiliation a third time! It was nice to actually watch hockey where they played the right way, seeing as during Unity games we aren't allowed to check because of their insurance policy for sports.

Not only was it a really good game but this time the basketball players weren't busy so they could come cheer on the team as well. It probubly would have been a little more fun if they had some music playing but thats a topic for Ice Man (a.k.a. Jacob Pullen). So everyone shoot him an email about music and see you there!

Thursday we have a game against KVCC and it's going to be a doozy so hopefully everyone shows up and cheers on the team! See you at the rink!!!

Hypnotist Show

Well last night we had one of the best campus activities, a hypnotist. He came on campus and was an absolute riot. Everyone had stomach pains from laughing so hard. It wasn't anything people would be too embaressed about the next day-- except maybe Cliff J. rocking out to Nsync. Kenny Roy, like last year, was a bundle of laughs thinking someone was pinching his behind. (Poor Kenny had the same hypnotist do that to him last year.) Also, Christina A. was a pretty good power ranger. (I wonder if she thought she was the pink one.) Thomas also learned that some of the kids on stage could sing! Journey karaoke seemed to be a big hit. Luckily, it didn't go too late. My RA and I had to work on some Business Finance homework. Hope everyone is doing well and see you on campus soon.

P.S. Monday night at 9:50 Thomas College Hockey plays against MMA. They tend to be pretty intense games so wear your Thomas t-shirts and support our guys (and girl)!

Hockey Season has Arrived!

I'm so proud of our hockey team. We beat Unity 7-2 and played a realy good game. We had alot of new players this year and our team came together nicely. Only one really big issue where I would have thought a fight was about to break out between a Unity player and Nate P. Luckily Slade was there to grab Nate. Slade breaking up a hockey fight is new for him, usually he's right in on all the action! Really proud of our goalie too. There was a close call about if the puck for Unity actually went into the net or not but he managed to catch it! As always Thomas supporters flooded Suki Areana and cheered the team to a really respectable win. I don't think Unity was very impressed but I think even they knew that it was a game well deserved. We also had some basketball games last night against Husson. Both teams lost but played hard. Still learning how to work together with all the new teammates is a hard feat to overcome right back from break. Either way as far as sports go we're doing alright. Tonight, off to see the hypnotist!

Introductions and back from break

Hi everyone, I'm Deb. We are just comming back from Christmas break and are starting off the new semester! Some of the RA's came in early (along with the students that played sports) however it seemed like yesterday the majority of us were all moving all of our things back onto campus. I still haven't received my books yet but ordering them off of half.com was deffinatly the way to go. I saved close to $200 just from ordering them offline used from other students as appose to buying them new off the bookstore! Hope everyone else is having a great new year and hope to see everyone at Thomas soon!!!
